Dr. Mark H. Bell
Founder
Dr. Bell founded Advanced Pain Management Specialists in 1998 to introduce pain management methods as a specialized treatment, with offices in the Wilkes-Barre and Scranton areas of North East Pennsylvania. An on-site ambulatory surgical center was opened at APMS headquarters (Plains, PA) in 2003. The addition of the surgical center allows Dr. Bell to offer, on an even higher level, long-term solutions to help you manage your acute and chronic pain.

Dr. Mark H. Bell, is extensively trained in a wide range of services to include technology based and alternative treatment options to improve the quality of his patients’ lives through effective pain management solutions. With office locations in Luzerne and Lackawanna counties in Northeastern Pennsylvania, a state-of-the-art surgical center located at Advanced Pain Management Specialists headquarters in Plains, Pa. and a presence in the Pocono region, Dr. Bell specializes in treating persistent pain that hasn’t been treatable with other, traditional, therapies and focuses on identifying and resolving the root cause of his patients’ pain.
Certified by the American Board of Anesthesia and the American Board of Pain Medicine, Dr. Bell stays active in pain management solutions and evolving technologies by regularly attending conferences, utilizing conventional and alternative pain treatments, and listening to how his patients respond to their exclusive treatment plan. With ongoing treatment, adjustments are implemented as needed to ensure the highest quality of care is delivered. These factors combined bring the best opportunity for his patients to have a better quality of life.
After earning his Medical Degree from Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa., Dr. Bell went on to train in general surgery and anesthesiology and completed a fellowship in critical care medicine in New York City, NY.
Dr. Bell welcomes patients who are looking for solutions to manage their chronic pain. A diverse range of independent physicians, physical therapists, physiotherapists, chiropractors, and fitness centers offer referrals to APMS for their patients and clients to obtain pain relief from acute and chronic pain. Using treatments customized to each patient’s needs, Dr. Bell strives to establish a physician/patient relationship where the patient feels comfortable, at ease and able to discuss their pain conditions openly. The ultimate goal of APMS is to provide ongoing and long-lasting pain relief to their patients
